Thorne's books are brilliant. I *think* the books are a mix of real and manufactured, but as he says, the internet is a playground.

In this case, I wouldn't put it past him to do this simply to screw with his boss.

I have to agree that Simon's dad while seeming compassionate and concerned with his son's future... didn't really seem to have put very much thought into the likelihood that Simon will ever get all the mayonnaise off his slice of bread... so to speak, I mean for an old guy he seemed pretty shallow...poor Simon!

Why the hell couldn't Melissa keep her big trap shut! What did poor Simon ever do to her!

Why did the David keep Simon's present...seems , I don't know,...a bit selfish under the circumstance...

Maybe seeing Simon's Suffering made David just want to go home and squash a bug...hardly the mood for gift giving.

In a way, I'm kinda happy for Simon. I mean he saw he had mis labeled his life and and took a stand against his own annihilation.
