Hi, I'm currently testing DOTA2 on my machine. I'm completly new to this kind of game, I even didn't completed the tutorial for now, but I really enjoyed so far. I'm asking here if any other LINUX gamers here are beginner in this game, and if there is any interest about playing this game together. The idea is to share 2 things being a native linux gamer AND a DOTA-like games noob. Anyone interested ? I even don't know how to organize that, but if any people is interested I'll take a look (and finish the tutorial and try to be a bit less noob...).
I played the whole tutorial, after that apparently you can create your own game and invite someone to join you. Not sure what else... is there LAN play? Are there Bots (A.I.) when playing solo? I'm a total beginner and love the graphic style, but the gameplay just doesn't interest me a whole lot. Maybe if I played it more?
Total beginner too here, I even didn't played the whole tutorial. I like the fact you have to upgrade your heroes, and focus on fight. I'll inform you about my progress. I will probably be detroyed in a few seconds when I'll make my first real game of it, but...Until this moment...I like this game. LOL
See if you can run a game solo with bots or something similar... That is a great way to practice. If not, then there should be noob servers you can connected to and play against people at your level.
Thanks I'm currently practicing the game, I did the tutorial twice, but the game still be hard for me (I'm definitly not a great gamer...). But I keep practice !
One element that frustrated me is the character doesn't follow the mouse when you hold the left button. All RPG's use this method of moving, but these Strategy games don't. When you are controlling one character its a LOT easier to move him around with holding Left Mouse button and moving the mouse.
