I downloaded the alpha demo of Excubitor and was pretty impressed. Its a fairly simple arcade shooter, but has an open map and tower defense. The Alpha consists of a large arena where your base is at one corner and the enemies will advance from several directions. You can build turrets to fend off the enemies, but ultimately you need to explore the map and destroy enemy bases. Excubitor Alpha There is an inventory and store where you can purchase upgrades later on, but it wasn't available in the Alpha. I'm sure you will be able to upgrade your ship and turrets. I'm hoping the arena's will be much larger with more areas to explore in the final game.
