    Hello everybody,
I saw an old post published in this website (link here) back in 2013 about installing Big Fish Games directly from the console.

    System:Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon (64)
    Programs to run Windows apps:
    Wine (Stable 3.0.1)
    Winetricks
    Playonlinux (4.2.12)

I was partially successful in installing the Big Fish Games (BFG) console, however I get an error near the end of the installation but the error does not show in the Playonlinux log. I installed it with Playonlinux.

The result is that I have the BFG shortcut on my desktop and when I double click on it, the app runs but the content of the window is completely white. I right clicked on the window and this is the source I'm shown (see attachment BFG_source). I'm also attaching a screesnshot of the desktop.

Apparently, you need Java to run this console. Does anyone know what libraries or files I should download with Playonlinux or Winetricks to make it work?

    Thanks a lot!

I discovered how to debug the file in Playonlinux.
    I'm attaching the log.
I apologize for not doing it earlier but I don't seem to be able to access my previous post as it is awaiting moderation.

Welcome to the forum Miracles Happen!
Ironically I am testing the Drawn series this week and will be posting a step-by-step guide on installing the Big Fish Games client. If you can wait, I'll have it published on Friday morning Arizona U.S. time.

Just so you know, I was able to install and run the Big Fish Games client and download all Drawn games. They launch just fine.
One thing that is required is setting windows to Windows XP in the Wine Configuration.

    Great!
Wait until Friday morning, I'm still working on the guide. Been playing Drawn for a week now and it runs great.
Haven't tried any other games yet.
Most hidden object games should still support Direct X 9, so they "should" run just fine.

Yes, I've tested a few HOPA games which are not bundled with the BigfishGame console and they work perfectly fine!

    Booman is unbelievable!
I tried installing a big Fish game by following your instructions (winecfg Windows XP) and it works flawlessly! Thank you, you saved me!
The console is working so I can download my previously bought games.
I'll still check out your tutorial tomorrow for future reference.
    I'm so happyyyyyyyy!

    Hi Booman,

I think you may be interested in my big Fish Games testing so here is an update:

    1. Old HOPA games work well with Wine configured to XP (3.0.1)
    2. I tried a new game but i get the following error:
    Graphic Card Not supported
During the installation it asked for DirectX 9 so I installed it directly in Wine via Winetricks but it didn't solve the problem. I also tried DirectX 11 but I got the same resut.
    3. The Big Fish Game Console works when you install a game or open a game but if you double click on it afterwards it doesn't work anymore (invalid name).

Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with and I'm looking forward to reading your tutorial.
    Thanks
