I didn't realize that Debian packaged Cinnamon Desktop Environment? https://linux.slashdot.org/story/19/07/07/0426205/after-25-months-debian-10-buster-released I really love Cinnamon and its Windows-ish functionality. Its one of the reasons I moved to Mint from Windows, but what is the difference between Debian and Mint if they use the same Desktop Environment?
Debian feeds Ubuntu. Ubuntu adds their usability enhancements. Mint fixes Ubuntu's bugs and thus makes a "just works" distro, a release out of date.
So Debian isn't really a Home Desktop distro for ease-of-use? I've used Debian before and it really seems like a server operating system. Of course I set it up to run like a server Its very basic with the GUI and requires a lot of work to set it up for home use.
It's rare to see "Debian" and "ease-of-use" written in the same sentence Debian is a very well though out distribution, intended to cover a broad cross-section of needs, from server through to desktop. You can have a superb Debian desktop... but, you won't be expecting the installer to do all the heavy lifting. You'll have to make some decisions yourself. Still, we Gentoo users reckon Debian is for the weak
It's alright... once we're done scorching it to ashes, you can have it. ... we'll be on to Mars by then
I dunno, half-built distro with really good documentation? I often find if I have a problem, there's an Arch wiki for it...
Mars? Sounds like a good place To go to relax and regret not having chosen mint or a decent planet to use it on.
