    Good news.
I am using Linux Mint 17, Playonlinux 4.2.2, and Wine 1.7.3.
I installed C&C using the above with no libraries etc.. Just a straight install with no game patches.
The only problem is when closing the game POL has an error in main on the launcher. I just ignore it.
I can after a long time play Tiberian Sun. Happy days!

I forgot to add, run in 800 x 600 window mode. Also set desktop to 800 x 600 before game launch.

    Not bad!
    Congrats!

    Are you using a laptop?
Try going into Wine configuration and Graphics tab
check all 4 options and set virtual desktop to 1024x768

Then when you launch the game, try setting the video resolution to match your Linux desktop.
Now it should appear full screen.

I installed it on my desktop pc. I tried 1024x768 and others in various combinations. None worked as well. The 800x600 graphics looked great. I may work on it some more but I don't want to break it. Still, I am so happy that I'm doing back hand flips.

The cool thing with PlayOnLinux is everything you setup existing in individual "virtual drives"
so you can backup the virtual drive then revert back to it if you break it.
Its all in a single folder.
