I recently purchased NECROVISION on steam for a ridiculous price: http://store.steampowered.com/app/7860/ so i tried to install it in POL and i get an error message that windows encountered an error. heres the error report on crash: Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x0000003c in 32-bit code (0x7dc24ff6). Register dump: System information: Wine build: wine-1.7.55 Platform: i386 Host system: Linux Host version: 3.16.0-57-generic i also found this video whereby someone had managed to install it on linux: si, has anyone had a chance to try this on linux and if so, any luck with it. thanks
Ah, I actually have Necrovision, just havn't made time to install and test it yet. Try using Wine 1.8 Also WineHQ's mentions using Windows XP and the d3dx9 package. Are you doing a manual installation like most of our Guides?
sorry for the late reply. i found out the problem. the game requires the old physX driver called ageia or something used to run old games. i downloaded the phys ex leagacy driver and installed it winetricks installation menu. the same driver works to install VELVET ASSASSIN. Velvet assassin wont start without legacy physX.
Yeah youre right and physx legacy is very needed in other titles too case like as clive barker jericho
Thanks for that information. I have Velvet Assassin as well. I plan to test them both and post step-by-step guides too. So I'll remember to use Ageia Physx as well. Were you able to get Necrovision running?
