    Hi,

I just bought Dragonfall DC, and I can't activate antialiasing.

I have the same problem I had with shadowrun returns, the antialiasing ingame option is not functioning.

The workaround I found for Shadowrun returns doesn't work anymore with dragonfall:dc. I was using the nvidia settings antialiasing override mode, instead of the antialiasing option into the game.

Any help will be appreciated. It doens't work on ubuntu 14.04lts, with both openbox and unity window managers.

The video card is a GTX 650 ti nvidia.

    thank you !

    I found a workaround,

I had to activate "override antialiasing" in nvidia settings. I put it to 8x(8x ms).
Ingame, I active the antialiasing, and put it to 8x too. Now it's working. If I set the nvidia settings override antialias to 4x, it works too apparently.

Awesome fix! I'll remember that. Use Nvidia drivers to force antialiasing for games.

Sadly the game became very laggy once the intro mission was finished. It's strange, but the framerate went from solid 60fps to choppy 20-25fps.

Shadowrun returns performance was perfect, but dragonfall, even if it's similar, cannot be played correctly on my machine (even if it's an old machine, it's far better than minimum specs of the game).

The weirdest thing is that no matter the settings (fx, antialias) or resolution I use, the problem still remains.

Interesting... you have a decent video card, so that isn't the problem. Have you updated the Nvidia drivers?
Is it smooth with antialiasing off?

Nope, no matter the graphics settings I'm using, maxed out or minimal, the game is choppy. Even with lower resolution !

    Shadowrun is native correct?
    You aren't using PlayOnLinux...

Yes, native. But maybe I should try to launch it on Wine/POL ! If the problem is linux related, it could be a solution, what do you think ?

I tried to install the windows steam version of the game with POL (wine 1.7.28), but I didn't achieve to make it run, sadly.

I installed vcrun6, dx9 and corefonts as suggested on wine appdb for shadowrun returns (there is no wine appdb entry for shadowrun dragonfall). The game launches ( the shadowrun mouse cursor appear on a black screen), and nothing else. No graphics, no music.

There really isn't anything serious in this error. I know you can play other games because you have reported success in the past.
So you must have 32-bit libraries installed and proper drivers.
This error concerns me because another person was getting these too.

You can play the Windows version in Wine, but I'm sure it will respond with the same errors, or worse

You mean the standalone version instead of the windows steam version I tested ?

Yes, you tested the Linux version of Shadowrun right?
I saw on Steampowered that there is a windows, Mac and Linux version.
So if the Linux version isn't working, you should probably post on Steam forums or their developer forums.
You can test the Win version in Wine, but it may have the same results.

Sorry for the confusion... I confuse myself sometimes when helping so many different people.
I re-read this thread and see the main problem is antialiasing and frame rate.
Did you ever update your Nvidia drivers?

I mostly play older native games in Linux, except Valve games of course.
So PlayOnLinux had problems and native is slow/laggy

Can you launch it from the console to see if there are any errors?
