    From Phoronix:

    I am excited. I can't wait to see the engine in action!

    How awesome is that going to be?
    I've had so many problems with Crysis 1 & 2 & warhead. Hopefully they are making plans to port those over as well.
    Maybe even Far Cry3 will get a Linux port?
    Hopeful wishing ;)

    Crysis 3 away from Crysis 2 and nowhere close Crysis and Warhead. Such shame...

    I'm okay with this... there are already some kickstarter games using this engine that announced linux support. Maybe we don't get ports from old games but we are looking for a fresh batch of new games ahead.

    I figure as much too. The only reason they would port those old game to Linux is because we would buy them, but I'm sure there wouldn't be a lot of profit on their end. Maybe they could charge extra? I don't know...
    They run ok in PlayOnLinux, but its just not the same :(

    I am looking forward to some of these new CryEngine games of course! Bring it on!

    I'm playing Crysis Warhead right now and am loving it!
    I played more than half of Crysis 2 and it was amazing as well. I loved the sunken street environments among the huge city!
    Very epic!

    I just downloaded Ryse Son of Rome. No Linux version yet so I will try it via POL. I wish they would make a Linux version but the devs say there are no plans yet.

    Once again Linux gamers get "jipped" and won't see another AAA title.
    Our only hope is Wine and DirectX 10/11 support.
    At least the list for DirectX 10/11 games is fairly small compared to DirectX 9 games.
    But more and more newer games are starting to only support Windows 7, 64-bit and DirectX 10/11/12
    Native ports are more desirable than ever

    "our day will come and we will have everything"

    Once upon a time there was ABC, NBC and CBS. Then came PBS and we saw what commercial free TV might look like...
    Well just look at home entertainment now!
    It comes at us from EVERYWHERE and everyone is rushing to get a piece...
    Linux maybe just a year or two away from totally blowing up...
    Why would people continue to pay when,
    FREE is offering a very competitive product?

    We have much to look forward to
    and
    at last we can say,
    "We have much to enjoy while we wait! ":O}

    Some where in the deep recesses of their MS abused and deflected minds they surely must realize that "denial" will soon be all they have
    You'll have to forgive me if I picture myself a mouse waving a hat pin to confront a charging elephant on the road to the school of hard knocks! ":O}

    You know what is really scary. NASA and ESA and The Russian space agency, use Microsoft 's sever program to run The ISS! 'Sorry all the astronauts and cosmonauts are dead because the sever went down for ten hours so the life support failed'!

    I would guess that they would use a highly modified version if at all for anything much beyond what the average guy might use MS for... But ya know, I've just been so wrong in the past...LOL

    Reading your collective posts on the economics of porting a game from MS to Linux...
    I don't have any recent info on this but when I was more into these things......Most games were created in Linux and then ported to M.S...has this changed?

    What I'm wondering is how-hard would it be , if possible, to wright a program or create hardware that could "Auto-port" past and present games?
    Or at lest greatly assist a programmer (or who ever such work would fall to.) in porting a game over to our appreciative hands?
    Am I totally off in dreamland here?
