Alright, time to have some community time. What are you currently playing?

Me? I bought Diablo 3 recently from GameStop, it was a $19.99 and I had to go for it. Diablo is one of my first game experience when I was young. I think that it has influenced me a lot and introduced me to even more games.

So right now I've been playing Diablo 3. Recently I installed Age of Empire 3 to finish the campaign. I'll be honest I've a bunch of games in the backlog because I haven't had the time to go through them and like many many steam users I end up buying even more games that I don't need in sales. Most of the time they are 75% off.

Dust: An Elysian Tail is a game I was finishing in Windows. Sadly, after I moved full time GNU/Linux system I lost my savedata. The linux version doesn't provide a way to synchronize with the cloud save files. I don't mind, the game is hella fun and really relaxing in terms of combat. I recommend it to any age, it's not a game that has gore or strong story so it's pretty much E for everyone.

Mind if I ask.. why did you move to windows to finish BL2?

You know after many years away from GNU/Linux and recently coming back I'm still disbelief on how stable playing windows games is. I have a bit of tearing, mostly related to drivers and I'm hoping it improves. But Diablo 3, jesus, it runs flawlessly. Guild Wars 2 runs like a beast, it has its flaws but once you deal with it it's just damn great. Age of Empire III? It runs rocksolid.

Sometimes I just wonder, "why didn't I make the switch early?".

    @booman

Does Bioshock 2 work with Playonlinux?
And if so, are you going to create a guide?

I see on your list Battlefield 3, and on ChrisBondWindows' Battlefield 4, I assume those games need Windows or am I completely wrong?

You are not wrong. BF3 and BF4 won't run on GNU/Linux.

You can get it installed I guess... but successfully run it with battlelog web plugin? doubtful.

@booman Brotherhood is indeed a wonderful game. I enjoyed it even more than Assassin's Creed 2. I have not even bothered attempting to try those games on Linux because of uplay. Thankfully the first AC is available on GOG without any drm. I am hoping Ubisoft will eventually release AC2, brotherhood and revelations on GOG without the uplay client.

I am kind of playing Might and Magic 9 as part of a project I started a couple of years ago to play through ALL Might and Magic plus Heroes games chronologically. MM9 is however a pretty bad game compared to all the others in the series so I lost interest. I still want to finish it but it might take a while.

I've been playing Chains of Satinav since I wrote the guide. I intend to finish it by the weekend so I can get started on the sequel, Memoria, as well as do a guide for it.

I also could not help but start playing Quest for Glory 1 now and then. It has been a while since I last played those games and I still love them. Each game in the series is actually pretty short when you know what to do, but a large part of the fun is replaying with a different class so you have to handle puzzles differently.

I have the same results as well. Most game run well and some of those AAA titles run with small gliches and I can live with those.
Borderlands 2 - I found out that there are some awesome DirectX 10 features that I just can't get with PlayOnLinux. The game runs a bit smoother in Windows and all the eye-candy is amazing! Thats mostly why...

Tried it several times and securom just won't work. All my research confirms it as well. So for now.. no guide until it works.
Most people that got Bioshock 2 running had to use a "no-cd crack" and I don't want to encourage that. Thanks a lot securom!

I was able to get Assassin's Creed II running and there is a post on PlayOnLinux forum about Brotherhood and Revelations running, but you have to purchase them from Uplay.
I am able to run Uplay just fine in newer versions of Wine.... I also redeemed my Steam code in Uplay for Brotherhood. So I'm hoping I can just download the entire game in Uplay and then try launching it in PlayOnLinux.
So I will eventually try Brotherhood in PlayOnLinux then make a Guide.

I am worried that Uplay, Origin, Arc and other clients will continue to cause problems like Steam does with updates.
So I'm trying to stay away from clients, but it seems that is entirely impossible. Too many cool games.

Just bought Long Live The Queen from GOG.com out of curiosity, well I'll be honest the trailer was just awesomely unexpected and I had to try it. $3.99? sold.

It runs flawlessly on WINE 1.7.12. I expected as much since the game is pretty much a novel of the sorts itself.

    Awesome!

I'm testing M&M Dark Messiah again, and of course its still not working.
I can get through the tutorial, but when the next level starts loading.... CRASH
I tested it about a year ago and had the same problem. The "Platinum" ratings on WineHQ's don't really go into detail on how it runs or how they configured it.
I was hoping newer versions of Wine would work... I even patched it to 1.02 and now it just crashes before launch.
    UGH

Sometimes changing libraries to builtin to native and vice versa could help, but its a tedious job.

Yeah, good point, but I don't even know which ones...
I can't find anything helpful online at all...
This morning I tried a re-install and didn't have a chance to play... so I'll be trying it again in the morning.
I have a feeling its something to do with DRM because if you play the demo, it stops at the exact point where it always crashes.
I can always try the Steam version, but unfortunately I will have to deal with Steam updates breaking Wine.
