This is one of the very few songs I've heard that deals with friendship between women and loss. "Maureen" Maureen It's hard to explain I'm never going to see you again And you'll never meet my new friends Maureen, I miss you I just can't explain I'm never going to see you again I wish you could meet my new friends Walking along the subway listening to Loving you is easy acapella You were a souped-up car in that rent-a-go-kart town And I miss you, Maureen We're as thick as thieves Maureen maureen Remember when my mother said to me Sade don't you come home to late Till you're back I stay awake And maureen With the boys you could tell at a glance You'd say he looks good Let'd hope he can dance Wicky wacky party to the.. Where are we going tonight And what will you be wearing Shone like a souped-up car in that rent-a-go-kart town And I miss you maureen, I miss you girl You were my best friend I'm never going to see you again, maureen And you'll never meet my new friends You really were a pearl in my world, maureen Maureen It's hard to explain You'll never call round to see me again You'll never meet my new friends Never meet my new friends Never meet my new friends Never meet my new friends [Repeat to fade]
I just noticed that the fidgeting reaches a peak among the non vocal part of the choir just before the next Halayluya sp,":O}
This one brings tears to my eyes as well, yet you are much closer to "owning" this amazing rendition.
Simply put, you are right, he is one gifted guitar slinger! Thank you for adding him to our list, ThunderRd!
He certainly is a great player and also a great singer. Thank you very much for this introduction, Thunder!
Another maestro of those six strings! I heard him and of him years ago but yet again forgot an artist.
I confuse this most excellent master guitar player with Roy Clark, the country musician, guitar player and comedian--at least on the popular tv show "Hee Haw." Mr Buchanan could have used a volume pedal but perhaps he had an aversion to floor pedals, his use of the volume knob on that Telecaster is masterful.
Thank you for posting this video, Jeff Beck is in a class of his own. I was blown away my Tal Walkenfeld playing with Jeff Beck at the Crossroads Festival in 2007. I was lucky and caught this on tv. She is an amazement, a true genius. All of 20 years of age in this video, this woman astonished me.
Sheryl Crow on stage with Eric Clapton? Talk about a miracle for her! This woman started at the top when she was a terrible musician, I mean she was making big bucks when she was worse than I am. See what I mean? I grant that she improved a lot but--playing with Eric Clapton? Maybe it was mass hypnosis? Being attractive must have aided her a LOT. All imho, naturally.
I didn't know that "The Blues Brothers" went on without John Belushi. If so, imho, John Goodman as John Belushi is a good substitute. Visually. In the original band Mr Belushi took care of ninety five percent of the singing duties, I don't know if John Goodman can sing. This rendition of "634-5789" is good.
